Sterilizing Effect of Pathogenic Microorganisms and Removing Effect of Residual Agricultural Chemicals by Ozone Treatment

Abstract

|
Effect of ozone on the growth of microorganisms which Spoil foods and the content of residual agricultural chemicals were investigated. It was shown that the growth of microorganisms was suppressed by 1O2-103 times by processing ozone. It was confirmed by the results of this study that ozone had sterilizing power against microorganisms which spoil foods. zone also significantly reduced the content of residual agricultural chemicals by decomposing them. That is, insecticides were reduced by 18-29%, and sterilizers were reduced by 9-13%. It is expected that ozone still extend the effettc of preservation of foods during refrigeration if it is applied to a refrigerator since it has a strong sterilizing power and removing effects of residual agricultural chemicals.
